Matthew Moore, LPC

Matthew Moore, LPC, NCC, joined the Christian Counseling Center in 2022 as a student intern, serving in both the Sumter and downtown offices. He earned his Master of Arts in Counseling from Columbia International University in 2023 and currently works full time with the Office of Mental Health while serving part time at the Center.

Matthew works with adolescents (16+) and adults navigating anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, and boundary related challenges. His therapeutic approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths based, and person centered practices, with a desire to help clients experience clarity, healing, and wholeness in Christ.

Before entering the counseling field, Matthew spent a decade in pastoral ministry and crisis relief work, including serving as Construction Director at Sumter United Ministries. Having lived in Sumter for 24 years, he became increasingly aware of the need for male therapists in the Sumter community and felt called to help meet that need. He desires to walk with people through difficulties of life and help them grow closer to Jesus.

Outside the counseling room, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, running and exercising, and relaxing with a good TV show. He is an active member of his church, where he serves in youth ministry and teaches Sunday School.
