Dr. Brian Mesimer, LPCS, has served as the Executive Director of the Christian Counseling Center since June 2024, and has been providing counseling services at the Center since 2015. He has degrees in philosophy, counseling, and theological studies, and holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from The University of the Cumberlands.
Prior to becoming Executive Director, he served as an assistant professor of counseling, lecturing on the connection between counseling and Christian theology. In addition, he is a published researcher and presenter in the fields of counselor education and theology. He has also held leadership roles in Reformed churches.
Dr. Mesimer is interested in working with people struggling with anxiety, depression, sexual and relational issues, spiritual formation, crises, academic concerns, life and career transitions, and grief. He also specializes in applying rich theological insight in a competent and therapeutic way.
Dr. Mesimer and his wife enjoy living in Columbia and are dog people. In his free time, you might find him reading, writing, watching or playing sports, and exercising.
