My counseling flows from how God has used me in people’s lives. In cross-cultural ministry I worked many years within church settings, mostly overseas. I have helped with a range of issues including anxiety, emotional regulation, depression, cultural/ethical issues, grief, marital issues, crises, women’s issues, boundary issues and stress. God granted me to help many heal, grow and change,
I came to realize that gifting would benefit from formalized training. I first pursued a pastoral counseling degree and continued ministering overseas. I soon discovered that I was not equipped for many I was trying to help, so I went back for a clinical degree. I have been counseling for 25 years now, 14 with my clinical degree and licensure.
I think of people as whole persons–emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual. I employ different approaches to meet the varied needs of my clients. With over seven decades of life, I have also personally gone through some of the issues above and can relate from personal experience.
As suggested above, I have a heart for cross-cultural workers because I was one and I understand the special situations they encounter. (Just in case you need it, I am fluent and feel comfortable counseling either in English or German.)
If you are one who is going through the struggles/pains/stresses of life and want to grow in your relationship to God and to others–in the midst of the challenges–let’s talk!
Personally: I have been married almost 50 years, have three children and 17 grandchildren. I love to read, walk, and do all sorts of handwork.
