Bert received his Bachelors Degree from North Carolina State University and Masters Degree in counseling from Columbia International University. His interest and experience has been in the areas of depression, anxiety disorders, various addictions (alcohol, illegal and prescription drugs, and various levels of sexual addiction), marriage and family issues. A significant amount of his case load consists of working with children and adolescents (including behavioral problems, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, dealing with the effects of divorce, and much more). He currently provides speaking engagements on various mental health topics to churches, schools, and other public venues. Speaking topics include: parenting issues (children and teenagers), crisis intervention, depression in adolescents, dealing with stress, vocational counseling, and marriage issues. Bert and his wife Ashley previously worked with Athletes in Action for eight years and have two children.
